Would Glow Sticks in Balloons Work?

Ever thinking about decorating dancing party or outdoor dinner banquet with glow sticks in balloons? How would that look and how long would they last for the night? For parties outdoors like pool parties, backyard BBQ, and even wedding dinners in the garden, people actually do use glow sticks to make balloons and lanterns to light up for unique decoration.

To set up lights outdoor using light bulbs is time consuming as you need to set up the wires ad connect them to electrical power outlet indoor somehow.   With self-dependent light tools like glow products, it becomes much easier.   As glow sticks are the brightest when they are first activated and would fade as time goes by, so do not get them going yet until right before your event takes place.   For balloons, the small glow sticks would be the choices as they can be easily inserted inside the balloons while for lanterns, you can use the 6” standard ones with more power output.   All glow sticks should light up for at least four to six hours and the industrial grade ones glow for longer period of time but they only come in 6” long and longer.

Look for glow sticks with rounded edges so they would not pop the balloons.  And before inserting the sticks, stretch the balloons a little bit to make it easier to get the sticks inside.  For the color of the balloons and lanterns, the clear ones and really lighted color one will be the best choice, as the glow light can go through these best.

For pool parties, you can through the lighted glow balloons into the pool they would float and can be tossed like water balloons for fun.  Glow balloons are also great for add light and fun to a dancing venue like a gym or hall.   And people hang glow lanterns in the garden for romantic wedding dinner decorations.

Glow sticks can be used for party decorations in many ways.  Long ones can be wrapped around chairs and table legs and there are even glow ice cubes for drinks and plates.   Now with glow in the dark balloons and lanterns, your guests won’t be disappointed with the cool decorations!
