Glow Sticks with Tinted Casing vs Clear Casing - Which One is Brighter?
Posted in Glow Sticks Facts on February 16, 2009We have had quite some customers asking us if we use tinted casings to achieve colors in our glow sticks. Before we answer that question, let’s first look at the difference between glow sticks with tinted casings versus clear casings.
As glow stick comes in a (8) different colors including red, pink, green, yellow, orange, blue, purple and white, plus bi-colors and tri-colors, the colors of glow sticks are achieved by using fluorescent dye, and then with clear casings, so different colors will show through the clear casings. There you have the glow sticks.
But instead of using fluorescent dyes to achieve colors, some manufacturers use Tinted Casings, which are basically colored plastic tubes. That means with tinted casings, the glow you are so excited to see are not the real glow of chemical reactions, you are actually looking at colored plastic tubes. Nevertheless, the brightness and duration of glow will be much less than sticks made with fluorescent dye - the REAL glow sticks. No wonder we’ve had a number of customers complaining about getting glow sticks with tinted casings from other sellers.
At Glow With Us, we do not carry tinted casing glowsticks. All our glow products are manufacturured with clear casings to achieve true glowing brightess and duration.
Now you see the difference between tinted and clear casings, the choice is pretty obvious. Don’t get glow sticks made with tinted casings!
